Establishing a connection and building a relationship with patients based on trust and respect is an important part of my psychiatric practice. I choose to focus on the client’s strengths, skills, and resources as treatment goals are set. Collaboration with the client’s supports, to include other providers, is also key to understanding the entire picture and vital for stress reduction. The best results often draw upon a variety of interventions such as psychotherapy, medications, and increasing one’s self-awareness. With mutual effort and perseverance, my clients express a greater sense of well-being and understanding on how to move forward in their lives following our work together.

With my experience as a longtime psychiatric nurse, veteran, and leader of children’s groups, I truly appreciate the dynamic relationship among mind, body, and spirit. I embrace this belief in my practice as I care for children, adolescents, or families who are struggling with anxiety, addiction, mood disorders, psychoses, or trauma. Other areas of my expertise include assisting those clients and families who are battling chronic medical issues or pain.
I enjoy spending time with my daughter, our rescue pets, serving in my church and our community, coaching girl’s soccer, and creating new memories at the lake. For relaxation, I find a good book, yoga, or a hike does the trick.
