Melissa Fuentes, PT, DPT, CSCS
General Physical Therapy, Physical & Occupational Therapy
I graduated from Northwestern University with my Doctorate of Physical Therapy. I received Bachelors degrees from the University of Illinois in Kinesiology and Psychology and approach each patient as a whole person in order to help them regain function. Each person is treated as an individual in order to reach their particular goals. I enjoy nothing more than seeing a person reach little milestones all the way through finishing their plan of care.
As a former gymnast, I have a passion for working with active individuals, especially in gymnastics, cheerleading, and the performing arts. As a recreational runner I have experience with post-operative and non-operative running injuries. In addition to treating adults with orthopedic injuries, I also see pediatric patients for developmental and orthopedic diagnoses. As part of my practice, I utilize trigger point dry needling, Graston Technique, and blood flow restriction training.
In my free time I enjoy working out, running, and crafting. I spend time with family and friends cheering on the Cubbies, Blackhawks, and Fighting Illini.
