I have been a practicing nurse practitioner since 2012. I am board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner but I have had extensive experience in treating many patients with mental health concerns. I treat all ages of patients across a diverse population. I am a fluent speaker of English and Spanish and have worked with underserved populations for all of my career. My personal style of practice is to build a positive rapport with my patients and their family. This style provides an environment where the patient and their family is comfortable to open up about any concerns that they are having. I provide a non-judgmental environment and can assure my patients that anything is open for discussion. Once the patient is comfortable opening up about their concerns we can begin to start the healing process. I am well-versed in medication management of psychiatric and family medicine issues and am keenly aware of any possible medication interactions and contraindications. I am always on the look out for any safety issues with the patient’s current medications and with any medications that may need to be initiated.

I am interested in medical management of psychiatric conditions and any medical issues that may be interrelated to a patient’s symptoms. I have a love for pharmacology and neuropharmacology. I am constantly educating myself on all modalities of therapy options, pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic, to help patients reach their optimal physical and mental health. I am consistently investigating and pursuing education on past, current, and future types of psychotherapeutic methods. In addition, I also teach nurse practitioner classes at a local university. I currently teach Pharmacology, Pathophysiology and Primary Care of Women, Infants, and Children.
When not working, I spend as much time as possible with my wife and three kids. All of my kids are adults now but we are always getting together to enjoy ourselves. I like to tinker around with old vacuum tube radios and electronic test equipment when time permits. I also like to continue my education. I have earned a Masters degree in Business Analytics (MSBA) and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA), I am also, solidifying my mental health knowledge by completing my certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Once finished with that I plan to finish my last five classes for a Masters in finance.
