I want therapy to be a safe place for people to share as much as they feel comfortable sharing, with the hope that they will also grow to share what is also uncomfortable. I want each individual to feel that someone is listening, but also when needed to help them develop tangible steps that they can take to improve their lives and relationships. My goal is to learn about my clients physical, emotional, and spiritual issues, as well as past difficulties, present concerns and future desires, in order to help heal past wounds, facilitate working through present situations, and encourage hope for the future. Sessions are typically conversational, and even when difficult subjects are discussed there will be an atmosphere of hope and optimism, as one of my beliefs is that failure is a road to success. As far as who I am, I have over 20 years of experience working with adolescents and adults, men, women, couples and families. As with many therapists, my own experiences help me to empathize with my clients, and I will share my experiences, when helpful. I am happily married, and happy having children I have birthed and inherited. I enjoy music, movies, sports (devoted Chicago fan), interesting books and articles, and good conversation. And most importantly, I believe every person has worth, and has a story worth hearing.
