About Diana Tumasz, LCSW

Philosophy of Care

Hi, I am a current LCSW, and I have been working with children, adolescents, and families for over 25 years. I believe that therapy should be a safe space where you can feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. I recognize that reaching out for support can be difficult, and I strive to create a comfortable environment where you can be your authentic self.

My practice style is person-centered, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I meet each client where they are and tailor therapy to their individual needs, strengths, experiences, and goals. I will never tell you what to do but work wth you to explore challenges, identify patterns, build healthy coping skills, and develop practical strategies that can support meaningful change. I bring approaches and techniques that best fit each individual, including cognitive behavioral, strengths-based, solution-focused, and mindfulness-based interventions. I also want to note that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process, and I value getting to know the whole person, not just the challenges that you are experiencing.

My goal is to help you develop greater confidence and emotional resilience and to help you navigate life's challenges. Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, relationships, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, you do not have to navigate it alone. My hope is that together we can create a space where you are valued, understood, challenged, and seen. I want to help you make your goals your own, and I'd like to share this journey with you.

Clinical Interests

One of my areas of strength is working with children, teens, and families. I find those years to be of such high importance because it is the years of emotional, social, and personal development. Young people are learning how to understand their emotions, build relationships, develop their identity, and find their confidence. I believe children, teens, and families deserve to have a place where they can talk openly about what they are experiencing and their feelings matter.

Working with families to help navigate and support them through these formative years and yes, challenging as well! During the past 3 years, I have also had the privilege of working with younger adults, older adults, and elderly communities, which I have also found a passion for, with both of my parents becoming part of that community. Through my years, I worked in the education system, working in mainstream classrooms to special education classes. I have been trained in ADHD, learning disabilities, and Autism awareness within the school system, and I am currently interested in becoming a child advocate for the schools.

I have worked with families navigating that system along with attending IEP meetings, 504 sessions, and working with school to collaborate a healthy and positive environment for the child and families within the schools and education system. During my internship, I also worked with women and children of domestic violence to help them navigate a safe and comfortable environment and to process through the trauma that they have experienced. My goal is to work with children and families through their journey and to help in any way that is possible; that is why I am so passionate and devoted to this career, because this is not a 9-to-5 job for me but a lifelong dedication to something I truly love.

Personal Interests

Besides my job that I love, outside of this I enjoy spending time with friends and family and people who are important to me. I continue to build relationships with my old coworkers along with new ones. I enjoy traveling with my friends and significant other, who, by the way, has been around the world! Lucky him. I would love to explore new places like Germany or Italy, which by the way is part of my heritage. I am a reality TV girl, so don't hold that against me, but I am also interested in crime shows and movies as well.

I love to make time for just me and me only! I enjoy reading books, taking walks, working on my own physical and mental health goals, and when I need a little emotional support, I play with my kitten (who, by the way, is 15 weeks old) at the time of this writing. I like to share with my clients not just my successes but the struggles that all humans face but I want my clients to discover the activities, relationships, and experiences that help them feel grounded and bring happiness to their lives.
