Shannan Hermann, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Behavioral & Mental Health, Psychiatry
I am passionate about population health and concentrate my efforts “upstream” to capture a comprehensive approach to illness prevention and disease management. I utilize a holistic paradigm and biopsychosocial framework to identify biological, psychological, and social factors that influence health. I seek to understand and treat illness in the overall context of the whole person. I serve as an advocate for my patients and use a collaborative approach to individualize treatment and identify strategies to remove barriers to promote physical and mental health. My combined treatment approach includes pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, and psychosocial interventions to meet patients’ individualized needs.
Behavioral & Mental Health insurance coverage varies by provider.
Prior to scheduling with a Behavioral & Mental Health (IPD) provider, please confirm with your insurance carrier that this provider is considered in-network and covered by your insurance plan.
I have particular interests in studying neuropsychopharmacology, neuroendocrinology, and research with a focus on the neurobiological basis for behavior and the interplay between genetic vulnerability and adverse life experiences.
I enjoy spending time with friends and family and time in nature (if water, trees, and horses are included, all the better). I tend to a small garden in the summer and enjoy cooking with the vegetables and herbs I grow. I enjoy learning about complementary/alternative practices and systems of natural health, including Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine.
