I find myself emphasizing and promoting communication when I approach new patients. There are really three major pieces in creating these new relationships. The first is establishing an understanding of who I am as a provider. Next it’s important for me to be a good listener to discover how I can help the patient. Then, we can find the right tools to solve the problem together. These are key to establishing a good working relationship in healthcare. Having those points in play creates a fluid environment that lets us work well together in a whole host of situations.

I truly enjoy helping treat patients when in the operative setting. It’s an environment that can be intimidating to patients but it’s also the place where we, as providers, do some of our best work. The satisfaction of helping people in such a crucial way is difficult to replicate elsewhere.
Spending time with my children and wife is always special for me, regardless of what we’re doing. Hearing my little kids laughing and yelling, “Chase me!”, that’s all I really need. Other than family, I enjoy exercising and taking time to go to the gym. Relaxing at the end of the day by reading and spending time in prayer is very important to me as well.
