Having been a Urologist for 20 years, I find that my relationship with my patients is central to their optimal care. I take time to get to know them and their 'care team' including their extended family. I get to know their expectations, life philosophies and help them realize that every decision we make regarding their care is a shared decision. My patients are aware of the standard of care guidelines to manage their conditions, but I always counsel my patients on all the available options and allow them to make a tailored decision for themselves.

As a board certified urologist, my training at the University of Chicago Hospitals has provided me extensive training in all aspects of Urologic care. I utilize the most current techniques to treat my patients and am especially interested in the Davinci Robotic platform which i have used since 2006. The partners in my practice have performed well over 1,500 robotic cases over this period of time which includes surgery for the prostate, bladder, ureter and kidney.
Aside from spending time with my lovely family and friends, I am interested in travel, creating art, home improvement projects, tennis and watching my kids play sports!

I can't say enough about the exceptional care I received from Dr. James Kim. From the moment I walked into the office, I felt seen, heard, and cared for. Very good experience. Results of urine sample were very fast. Finding my way to my check in location was easy. Staff knew where to direct me in this large facility. Everything was will organized . There was plenty of space in the waiting area so you won't possibly pick someone's infection.
