About M. Hunter Webb, MD

Philosophy of Care

I believe good pain care starts with listening. Pain can affect nearly every part of a person’s life, from work and sleep to relationships and the ability to enjoy everyday activities. Many patients arrive after months or years of searching for answers, so it is important to me that they feel heard and taken seriously.

My style is warm, straightforward, and practical. I take time to understand each patient’s experience, explain their condition and treatment options in clear language, and answer questions honestly. I want patients to understand not only what I recommend, but why I recommend it. Pain management is rarely one-size-fits-all, so we work together to develop a realistic plan based on their symptoms, priorities, and goals.

My focus is not simply on a pain score. I want to help patients improve their function, regain confidence in what their bodies can do, and return to the activities that matter to them. Whether the next step is a targeted procedure, a more advanced therapy, or a combination of approaches, my goal is to provide thoughtful care without making the process feel overwhelming.

Clinical Interests

My clinical interests include neuromodulation and minimally invasive treatments for chronic pain. I have a particular interest in spinal cord stimulation and peripheral nerve stimulation, which can offer meaningful options for carefully selected patients whose pain has not improved with more traditional treatments.

I also enjoy using targeted procedures, including nerve blocks, to help identify and treat specific sources of pain. I am especially interested in caring for patients with persistent pain following surgery, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), and neuropathy from a variety of causes. I also work with patients who have chronic pain that has not been treated surgically, as well as those whose pain does not have a clear or easily identifiable origin.

These cases can be complex, and there is not always a simple explanation or immediate solution. I enjoy working through that complexity with patients, carefully evaluating their symptoms, considering which treatments are most likely to help, and adjusting the plan based on how they respond. My goal is to help each patient find a path forward, even when previous treatments have not provided the relief they hoped for.
