Drug Desensitization

Drug Desensitization is when a minimal amount of a medication is introduced at a time to your immune system in a controlled setting. The goal of this treatment is to eventually take a full dose of a medication you are allergic to over a period of time. Introducing minimal amounts of the medication at a time will help your medical provider monitor and control your symptoms while you still take a medicine needed for your health condition.
