DuPage Medical Group First in Illinois to Utilize da Vinci® Xi™ Surgical System at a Freestanding Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC)

DOWN­ERS GROVE, Ill. — DuPage Med­ical Group (DMG), the largest inde­pen­dent, mul­ti-spe­cial­ty physi­cian group in Illi­nois, is the first free­stand­ing ambu­la­to­ry sur­gi­cal cen­ter (ASC) in Illi­nois to per­form min­i­mal­ly inva­sive out­pa­tient pro­ce­dures using the da Vin­ci Xi robot­ic sur­gi­cal system.

Locat­ed in Lom­bard, Ill., the Sur­gi­cal Cen­ter of DuPage Med­ical Group, the busiest ASC in the state of Illi­nois, func­tions inde­pen­dent­ly as a free­stand­ing ASC, pro­vid­ing patients access to sur­gi­cal care with­out requir­ing a hos­pi­tal stay. DMG is one of only 15 free­stand­ing ASCs in the Unit­ed States to oper­ate on patients using the da Vin­ci Xi sys­tem for sur­gi­cal procedures.

The da Vin­ci Xi enhances sur­geons’ capa­bil­i­ties beyond what the human body allows, pro­vid­ing bet­ter vis­i­bil­i­ty, accu­ra­cy and pre­ci­sion. Patients can ben­e­fit from small­er inci­sion sites, few­er com­pli­ca­tions and faster recov­ery times. Addi­tion­al­ly, in our Lom­bard ASC set­ting, patients expe­ri­ence high­er sat­is­fac­tion, low­er infec­tion rates and reduced costs when com­pared to a hos­pi­tal setting.
