Went in due to a severe Prurigo Nodularis flare up, needing to get back on injections. This PA seemed rushed, uninterested, did not provide any immediate relief options as I had received when first diagnosed with Prurigo Nodularis, showed little to no concern about how it effecting me day to day, making a comment referencing that I never should have stopped the self injectable and didn't follow up with my main derm MD, when she had arranged a 12 month script and indicated to follow up in a year. My husband was with me and I'm glad he was, because he kept asking him questions that we needed to know, a lot of the answers contradicting my primary derm MD's comments. Completely shut down any answers about the prior auth process 2nd time around, said he had nothing to do with it, when he actually does in terms of proving my case to insurance through notes. I was really upset after the visit, it was very frustrating to leave with no relief as he denied a Kenalog injection which had helped before. I had also been given a month worth of antibiotics when I was first diagnosed. Just seemed generally annoyed and only looked at my forearm. Just made comments throughout after being asked questions that were short and honestly rather cocky. I scheduled with him only because that was one day I actually had free, and my husband works right by the office which my PCP is also in. I had reservations about seeing a PA for this, as I have had a few bad experiences with the PA's at Duly, but anymore that is the only option patients are given most of the time. Will be following up with my actual derm MD's office for advice. At least I got the process started for the prior auth, but will be asking my primary derm office to take over.
