Hepatitis A Vaccination


The Hepati­tis A virus (HAV) is a high­ly con­ta­gious liv­er infec­tion. The best way to pro­tect against Hepati­tis A is to prac­tice good hygiene, such as hand wash­ing and to get vaccinated.

Who should get immu­nized: The Hepati­tis A vac­cine is rec­om­mend­ed for any­one 12 months of age or older.

Immu­niza­tion sched­ule: The vac­cine is giv­en as a two-shot series over six months to a year. The vac­cine pro­vides life­time immunity.
