As a practicing physician, I build treatment plans alongside my patients through a shared-decision making approach. I understand that each patient is unique and has her own goals. I like to start each encounter by asking about their main goals for the visit; this allows us to work efficiently while also ensuring that her own concerns and questions are addressed. I understand that there are many ways to practice medicine and thus I like to teach patients what the most updated research and evidence shows, in order for them to be able to make informed decisions regarding their care.
