Understanding Your Baby’s Healthcare Schedule
Routine Well-Child Visits
During your child’s first two years, routine well-child visits help make sure they’re growing and developing as expected. At each visit, your pediatrician will check your child’s height and weight, track their motor skills, ask about feeding and sleep habits, and talk with you about any recommended vaccinations.
These regular check-ins are a chance to ask questions, talk through concerns, and feel supported every step of the way.
Well-child visits are typically scheduled at:
- 1 – 3 days after being discharged from the hospital
- 2 – 4 weeks
- 2 months
- 4 months
- 6 months
- 9 months
- 12 months
- 15 months
- 18 months
- 24 months
- 30 months
When your child turns three years old, you can then schedule a well-child visit with your pediatrician annually.
Immunization Schedule
Immunizations are an important part of your child’s early care. They’re given during routine well-child visits and help protect your child from serious illnesses. Following the recommended vaccine schedule helps build strong, lasting protection as your child grows.
Here’s a look at the immunizations your child will typically receive at each stage:

*Annual influenza immunization (flu shots) starts at 6 months. Two doses are recommended for the first year of vaccination if under 9 years of age.
*RSV prevention immunization (nirsevimab) is recommended for infants under 8 months during RSV season (fall through spring) to protect against severe respiratory illness. Most infants need only one dose, typically given within the first week of life or before their first RSV season.

Sick-Child Visits
If your child has symptoms like a sore throat, ear pain, cough, fever, or other common illnesses, we’re here to help. Same-day sick visits are available through your pediatrician’s office so your child can get the care they need, when they need it. Our experienced team of pediatric nurses are also available to answer questions about your child’s symptoms and provide guidance on the best next steps for their care.
Office visits aren’t just for illness; they’re also a great time to check in about any new concerns that come up between well visits. Whether it’s a rash, feeding issue, behavior change, or anything else, your care team is here to listen and support you.
When you call to schedule, let us know if your child has a rash or may have a contagious illness. We may guide you to a separate entrance to help keep all our patients safe.
If your child is experiencing a serious or life-threatening issue, please go to the nearest emergency room right away.
Care for your family doesn’t take a day off. Our pediatrics, family medicine and immediate care teams are available seven days a week, 365 days a year for care no matter what comes up.
